Middle+ System Game Designer — 2D Idle RPG (Steam)

We are a small team developing a 2D Midcore Idle RPG with InApp monetization. We are currently looking for a System Game Designer (Middle+) to help us scale the project.

🎮 Tasks — Design game systems (economy, progression, combat mechanics); — Create mathematical models for characteristic balancing; — Adjust difficulty curves and game progression; — Analyze game metrics and adjust systems; — Design game loops and engaging gameplay loops; — Balance live content (events, seasons); — Prepare documentation (GDD, spreadsheets with formulas, technical specifications for the team).

🛠 Requirements

Mandatory: — Commercial experience in idle RPGs for at least 1 year (system design, balance, economy) OR — Commercial experience in balancing / system design in another genre (at least 1 year) + deep gameplay experience in idle (list below)

Reference Game Experience: IdleOn, Revolution Idle, Melvor Idle, Idle Slayer, NGU IDLE, Unnamed Space Idle, Idle Clans, Idle Skilling, Idle Fishing

General Skills for all candidates: — Understanding of metrics (ARPU, ARPPU, LTV, Retention) – as data for system balancing; — Prototyping skills in Unity or mock-up skills in Figma/Sketch; — Analytical thinking; — Ability to work with balance spreadsheets and complex formulas in Excel/Google Sheets

💬 Will be a plus Experience with Pixel Art projects (understanding style limitations, ability to formulate technical specifications for an artist)
