Analyst for the Food Efficiency Team

Our team aims to maximize the operational efficiency of Yandex Food. We improve control algorithms: courier assignment, balancing supply and demand, pricing, as well as distribution, recruitment, and management of couriers.

You will be responsible for developing dispatch—the assignment of couriers to orders.

What tasks await you

Optimizing the algorithm for assigning couriers to orders You will configure the Hungarian algorithm and edge scoring on the graph, optimize delayed courier assignment, and work on tasks related to selecting target courier arrival time and buffer size.

Working with parameters and infrastructure You will configure dispatch parameters based on business needs in different countries and regions, and configure the surrounding infrastructure.

Implementing new functionality You will have the opportunity to research and analyze the current functionality of the algorithm, its strengths and weaknesses, and devise new features that will help improve performance, accuracy, and usability.

We expect you to

• Have a good knowledge of mathematics and basics of statistics
• Be proficient in SQL and write in Python
• Not be afraid to learn new technologies
• Be able to see the physical meaning behind the numbers and find the causes of phenomena
• Articulately and clearly defend your own point of view and listen to others
