Position: DS junior+ (Causal Inference & Econometrics)

💡The ad-hoc analytics team from X5 (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Chizhik, etc.) is looking for experienced DS specialists with a focus on Causal Inference and applied econometrics

You will work in a new stream team - no legacy, many interesting research tasks - a significant part of the work will be about 'research': analyzing business mechanics and formulating causal hypotheses, reading fresh articles and implementing methods from them, comparing these methods with each other
🔭What will you be doing here?
- End-to-end development of methodologies and tools for estimating effects in cases where classical A/B tests are not applicable
- Implementing advanced econometric approaches to improve current methodologies (for example, we are currently trying to implement instrumental variables where possible)
- Writing articles based on the results of particularly interesting tasks
Examples of already solved tasks - estimating the effect of various loyalty programs (Package, Orange, Clubs, Food.ru) on customer spending
😎You are a good fit for us if you:
- Have at least one year of experience in the DS field
- Have a background in Causal Inference / econometrics (science, study, work)
- Know what endogeneity is, why it can arise and how to deal with it
- Can distinguish a confounder from an instrument
- Can draw a DAG for a specific DGP, can identify colliders and mediators on it
- Are familiar with modern approaches to analyzing cross-sectional and panel data (Doubly Robust Estimators (AIPW), DiD, TWFE, IV)
- Can write clean and structured code in Python, know classic algorithms and data structures
- Know SQL - can build optimal queries, familiarity with the Hadoop stack will be a plus;
