Senior/Lead Development Lead (Python / AI & LLM / RAG / Team Management)
Salary: up to 320,000 RUB net per month.
Grade: Senior / Lead.
Workload: Full-time.
Engagement Period: 3 months with the possibility of extension.
Format: Remote.
Time Zone: UTC+3 (MSK).

About the Project: An IT company developing diverse projects with a focus on AI/LLM solutions, integrations, and high-load services.
We are looking for a Senior/Lead Development Lead who combines strong technical expertise in Python and the AI stack with team management skills. This is a role for a leader who not only designs architecture and writes code but also develops the team, builds processes, and can explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
Key Tasks:
Management and Processes:
- Leading a backend development group (3+ people).
- Preliminary effort estimation, task decomposition, resource and sprint planning.
- Conducting quality Code Reviews.
- Ensuring optimal interaction within the team and with adjacent departments (AI/ML, Data, Product).
Architecture and Development (Hands-on):
- Designing the technical architecture of solutions and services.
- Performing development tasks: designing and writing code.
- Participating in the development of technical documentation and the formation of architectural standards.
Mandatory Requirements (Hard Skills):
Experience and Management (CRITICAL!):
- At least 5 years of development experience.
- Experience leading a development group of 3+ people.
- Ability to break down large tasks into subtasks and distribute them.
Python and Web (CRITICAL!):
- Python 3.11+: confident command of OOP, modern patterns, asynchronous programming (asyncio), strict typing (typing).
- Web Development: FastAPI and Pydantic (v2): creating asynchronous APIs, data validation/serialization, generating OpenAPI documentation.
AI and LLM (CRITICAL!):
- Designing agent scenarios on LangGraph.
- Integration with OpenAI-compatible APIs (OpenAI, Azure, local LLMs via vLLM/Ollama).
- Practical application of Structured Outputs (JSON/Pydantic schemas, function calling, tool use).
- Experience building RAG pipelines (chunking, embeddings, reranking, hybrid search).
Databases and Vector Search:
- PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, index work, using SQLAlchemy 2.0 / Tortoise / asyncpg.
- Vector Databases: pgvector, Qdrant, Weaviate, Chroma (embedding selection, HNSW/IVFFlat index configuration, metadata filtering).
Infrastructure, Data, and CI/CD:
- Docker and Docker Compose, understanding orchestration principles (Kubernetes).
- Working with asynchronous queues: Redis, Celery, ARQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
- Setting up pipelines in GitLab CI/CD, linting (ruff, mypy), automated tests.
- Working with data: processing JSON, TOML, DAT, CSV; extracting information from PDF, parsing DXF drawings.
Testing:
- Unit and integration tests (pytest, pytest-asyncio), mocking external AI APIs.
Soft Skills and Other Requirements:
- Confident Linux user (above basic level, no DevOps tasks).
- Skill in explaining complex technical problems in a simple and understandable way.
- Experience with public speaking: conferences, meetups, and other industry events.
- Working with flexible and hybrid methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
