A major bank is looking for a Deputy CFO for the bank.
Position level: top management (direct reporting to the CFO).
Main areas of responsibility:
- Analysis and control of the payroll fund (FOT): monitoring the FOT structure by departments and personnel categories; identifying deviations from the plan and reasons for overspending; preparing analytical materials for management decision-making; interaction with HR and personnel departments on tariffing, bonuses, and staffing issues.
- Control of administrative and economic expenses: analysis of expense dynamics and structure; identification of inefficient items; control of limits and justification of costs; development of proposals for cost optimization and increasing the efficiency of resource use.
- IFRS Financial Block: methodological support and control of IFRS reporting preparation; ensuring correct reflection of operations in accordance with international standards; interaction with auditors and internal controllers; participation in resolving complex accounting and valuation issues.
- Management reporting: organizing the regular preparation of management reports for top management; setting up metrics and KPIs for key areas; ensuring data transparency and comparability; implementing reporting visualization and automation tools.
- Planning and P&L Management: formation and updating of the income and expense budget; budget execution control; P&L analysis by business lines and responsibility centers; preparation of forecast models and scenarios for financial indicators.
- Participation in process reengineering projects: optimization and automation of IFRS and management reporting generation; restructuring of the budgeting process; description and standardization of processes, implementation of control procedures; working with IT teams and vendors to configure accounting systems.
Candidate requirements:
- Education: higher economic/financial (preferably specialized: finance, economics, accounting and audit).
- Experience: from 7–10 years in the financial function of a major bank, including mandatory team leadership experience.
- Current team of over 80 employees.
- Practical IFRS experience: confident understanding of standards, experience in preparing and defending reports, interaction with auditors.
- Budgeting and management accounting: experience in building and controlling the budgeting process, P&L analysis, management reporting.
- Process optimization and automation: experience in reengineering projects, understanding of project lifecycle, process description skills (BPMN/EPC or similar), experience with accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, 1C, internal platforms).
- Analytical skills: ability to structure data, identify root causes of deviations, formulate clear conclusions for management.
- Leadership and communication skills: ability to manage cross-functional teams, build interaction with business, IT, and control departments, present complex financial data in simple terms.
Will be an advantage:
- Experience working in a major bank/systemically important banking group.
- Experience implementing or improving management reporting and IFRS systems.
- Knowledge of the Bank of Russia's regulatory requirements for financial reporting and information disclosure.
