This industry is gaining popularity against the backdrop of the development of wine culture in the field of digital solutions.
Areas of Responsibility:
Performing the role of a DBA responsible for the administration and development of existing database infrastructure on MS SQL Server and the gradual migration of services to a Linux environment with an increasing share of PostgreSQL.
- Administration and support of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server databases in the company's infrastructure, primarily PostgreSQL.
- Operation and development of fault-tolerant solutions based on SQL Server Always On.
- Monitoring the state of database servers, performance analysis, bottleneck identification, and incident resolution.
- Optimization of SQL queries, indexes, and SQL Server configuration.
- Setup and support of data backup and recovery processes.
- Participation in the development of the architecture and operational standards of the DB infrastructure.
- Participation in the design, implementation, and operation of PostgreSQL as its use in the infrastructure expands.
Stack: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Baremetal, SAN, VM.
Required Competencies:
- 3+ years of experience in DBMS administration, including practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of SQL Server architecture and DBMS principles.
- Practical experience in operating SQL Server and PostgreSQL in a production environment: monitoring, optimization, incident resolution, and ensuring fault tolerance.
- Experience with Always On in a geo-distributed environment, replication, or other fault tolerance mechanisms.
- Experience setting up DB backup and recovery.
- Skills in performance analysis, bottleneck identification, and fine-tuning DBMS.
- Ability to work with T-SQL and SQL scripts for automation and diagnostics.
- Experience administering Windows Server in the capacity required for SQL Server operation.
- Willingness to develop competencies in Linux and deepen expertise in PostgreSQL as its share in the infrastructure grows.
