Responsibilities
- Be responsible for product strategy and roadmap for the directions, prioritize
- Build products as reusable blocks on a shared core, not one-off pipelines
- Ensure predictable quality through a system around the model: benchmarks, metrics, external result verification, reliance on the source (quotes)
- Be responsible for the product's impact on business metrics: test hypotheses, measure the effect of changes, iterate based on data
- Select models for the task and manage economics
- Independently assemble product prototypes for hypothesis testing and hand them over to engineers for implementation
- Coordinate the team (engineers, trainers, analytics), launch pilots
What's important
- Experience in product management for AI/ML or data products launched into production (3+ years)
- Product discovery
- Confident command of Claude Code / Codex
- Engineering intuition for LLMs
- Ability to build quality assessment: benchmarks, metrics, testing
- Model selection for the task and understanding of economics
- Independence in research
