Cosmetics brand MAREE is looking for a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to help build a transparent financial system for international e-commerce and become a key partner to the CFO.
They are looking for someone who:
- Thinks like a CFO
- Can work hands-on (models, reporting, processes)
- Wants to build a modern financial structure for an international online business almost from scratch
Responsibilities:
Treasury and Cash Management:
- Cash flow management: payment calendar, liquidity control, payment prioritization
- Organization and optimization of financial flows between legal entities/countries/platforms (Amazon, etc.)
Management Accounting and Reporting:
- Overseeing management reporting: structure, regulations, consolidation, quality, and deadlines
- Building P&L/CF/BS in required breakdowns (products, channels, countries, etc.)
- Plan-vs-actual analysis, preparing recommendations for the business, participation in management decisions
Methodology for Amazon and other marketplaces:
- Developing accounting methodology for sales on Amazon and other platforms: revenue, commissions, fees, promotions, returns, logistics, warehousing, currency differences, taxes, etc.
- Setting up the process: what data, from where, in what format, and how it enters reporting
Budgeting and Planning:
- Preparing budgets and forecasts, participating in their approval
- Regular re-forecasting, scenario planning, collaboration with CFO and top management
Systems and Interaction:
- Working with QuickBooks (they will teach you if you don't know), setting up accounting models
- Working in Excel/Google Sheets: maintaining and developing financial models
- Close interaction with: operations, logistics, marketing, e-com team, accounting department (internal/outsourced)
Candidate Expectations:
Experience and Background:
- 10+ years of experience in finance
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: international companies/holdings, e-commerce, retail, FMCG, manufacturing with export, audit/consulting (Big4 is a strong advantage)
- Roles: Financial Manager/Lead Financial Manager/Deputy CFO/Financial Controller/Manager/Senior Manager in audit with subsequent transition to business
Education and Certification:
- Higher education in finance/economics
- Holding or pursuing ACCA, CIMA is a big plus
Hard Skills:
- Strong management accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, planning
- Experience in building/refining management reports (P&L, CF, BS, breakdowns by product/channel)
- Treasury: payment calendar, liquidity management
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets: complex formulas, pivot tables, working with large models, preferably experience with Power Query, macros (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Experience with accounting systems (1C/SAP/Oracle/other)
- Willingness to learn QuickBooks (they will teach you if unfamiliar)
Languages:
- English — Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher: for reports, documentation, possible correspondence with foreign partners
Soft Skills:
- Systemic and business-oriented thinking
- High degree of independence: you can build processes and make decisions without micromanagement
- Attention to detail + ability not to get bogged down in them
- Willingness to work hands-on (models, data exports, reports), not just discuss at a conceptual level
- Ability to communicate financial conclusions in an understandable language to non-financial colleagues
- Proactiveness: you not only close reports but also suggest improvements
Conditions:
- Format: full-time, fully remote (Moscow as the base location; rare offline meetings are possible)
- Working hours: 5/2 from 9 to 18 (Moscow time)
