At Yandex, there is Sandbox — a cluster for running arbitrary automation tasks, which also serves as the foundation for building CI and preparing releases within the company. We have our own fleet of hundreds of thousands of CPU cores, and we process over two and a half million tasks per day. We must ensure task execution in different OS and environments and meet high availability requirements under heavy load.

What tasks await you

Product Re-evaluation Over the years, the system has accumulated numerous responsibilities. Some of them will need to be transferred to more specialized systems. For the runtime on top of our own hardware and artifact management, you will formulate a development strategy and bring it to life.

Interaction with product users and Yandex service managers Sandbox is used by almost the entire company. You need to be able to see and prioritize both the problems of engineer-users and the needs of business unit infrastructure managers.

Setting up and maintaining processes within the team The team consists of five specialists in four cities. You will need the ability to organize work in a distributed team, grow employees, and delegate tasks correctly.

We expect you to have

• Managed products and a team for at least one year
• Developed complex systems
• Can plan tasks, see them through to completion, and take responsibility for the result
• Are ready to dive into a complex product in the field of containers, virtualization, and highload

• Have developed in Python
• Have worked on infrastructure services
• Can apply a product approach
