Development Team Lead for the Data Center Infrastructure Management Team

The Data Center Infrastructure Management team creates internal technologies and services that manage Yandex's entire fleet of server equipment. This is the core upon which the company's entire modern cloud infrastructure with virtualized resources and platform services is built.

In addition to creating information systems, we also work with hardware: we are the first to receive new platforms, together with the RnD team we test them, develop control code, and adapt new equipment for operation within Yandex's infrastructure.

What tasks await you

Development You will develop services in Python/Go that solve the full cycle of tasks related to the management, testing, and monitoring of Yandex's server fleet.

Working with Architecture You will need to define the architecture and technologies for service development, considering best practices and modern approaches.

Leading a team developing infrastructure services You will be responsible for forming and developing the team, planning and coordinating projects, analyzing and optimizing current development processes, and implementing new tools and methodologies.

Participation in strategic planning You will be involved in planning and developing a long-term strategy for the development of infrastructure solutions.

We expect that you

• Have experience in systems development
• Code in Python, Go
• Understand how Linux works under the hood of servers and data centers
• Can critically evaluate results and see potential problems with solutions

Will be a plus

• Have managed a development team
• Have hired people and know how to properly develop engineers (and understand the importance of this)
