Shift Analyst
Yandex Shift is a young, fast-growing service that helps people find the most suitable source of income near their home. We aim to transform the mass employment market similarly to how taxi-hailing services transformed urban mobility.
On one hand, we have a B2C project where clients are millions of people looking to earn extra income with guaranteed payments and quality conditions. On the other hand, it's a B2B project that attracts major partners through the reliability of its performers, convenience of service, and ease of interaction.
We operate in startup mode with a culture of data and argument-based decision-making: we focus on growth, and we already have a sufficient amount of data to test hypotheses and make decisions. We adapt quickly to new challenges, and every one of us directly influences the service's development every day.
Improving current algorithms and devising new ones We have big plans for the future — to realize them, we create and implement new algorithms, technologies, and rules, and we also optimize the efficiency of existing solutions. We think about how to formalize and express market saturation with performers in metrics, how to determine the optimal task price that is attractive to the performer and acceptable to the customer, which task to offer to this specific performer, and in what order to show other tasks — and much more.
Translating the surrounding world into the language of metrics and participating in business decision-making To grow even faster, we constantly search for and test new hypotheses. The analyst's role here is to translate observations into the language of metrics and formulate decision criteria. Sometimes, collecting a product funnel will be enough to make a decision, such as in the customer task publishing flow; other times, it will involve calculating unit economics and evaluating the effect in an offline model; for some, it will require designing and conducting an A/B experiment.
Managing the full analytics cycle in your area of responsibility You will be monitoring a dedicated fragment of the service, directly influencing the success metrics of this fragment's development and the ways these metrics will be improved. You will have considerable freedom of action in working on this fragment.
