We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) with 3–4 years of experience in the high-risk domain, who will take over the operational and commercial management of the payment business with a focus on optimizing payment infrastructure, scaling business processes, and directly impacting the company's P&L and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operational activities of the payment business and ensure the stability of all key processes.
- Be responsible for efficiency: PSP, acquiring, payment methods, processing, approval rates, declines, chargebacks, fraud, and related metrics.
- Manage key PSPs, banks, processors, and other payment partners: negotiations, terms, fees, limits, reserves, and quality of work.
- Develop and scale payment flows, increase approval/conversion rates, and reduce operational losses.
- Participate in the formation and implementation of the commercial strategy: new markets, products, partners, and revenue sources.
- Control key financial and operational metrics and influence P&L, gross margin, unit economics, and profitability.
- Build organizational structure and manage cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate the work of Operations, Payments, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Sales/Business Development, and other functions.
- Make quick decisions under high uncertainty and promptly resolve critical issues with payments and partners.
- Form KPIs, management reporting, and an efficiency control system.
- Scale processes without losing control over risk, compliance, and operational quality.
What's important to us
- 3–4+ years of experience specifically at the level of COO / Chief Operating Officer / Operations Director with significant responsibility in payments / PSP / acquiring / iGaming.
- Commercial background: the candidate must understand how operational decisions affect revenue, margin, and profitability.
- Experience managing external payment partners and conducting complex commercial negotiations.
- Understanding of payment metrics: approval rate, conversion, decline rate, chargeback, fraud, processing costs, and profitability flows.
- Experience managing teams and multiple functional areas simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- English language — confident working level.
- Readiness to work in a dynamic international environment and make independent decisions.
Will be a big plus
- Experience building or scaling your own payment/PSP division.
- Contacts among PSPs, acquirers, banks, and payment providers.
- Experience with international markets and multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience managing P&L or a full business unit.
- Understanding of AML/KYC/KYB, fraud prevention, and compliance in the context of high-risk payments.
- Experience in restructuring operational models or leading a business out of complex operational situations.
