Event Manager
About the Role
Bringing our users together through events is a key part of Figma’s marketing strategy — from educational live streams and product hours to community meetups and our global user conference, Config.
As the Experiential Marketing team continues to grow, we’re hiring an experienced Event Manager to help scale the planning, execution, and operational management of our programs. This is a new role focused on building the systems, processes, and infrastructure that enable our team and events to thrive.
The role breakdown is roughly 60% event operations and systems building, and 40% event production.
As an Events Manager, you’ll play a key role in executing our tier-one conferences (including Config), owning the full event technology lifecycle and building a strong operational foundation for the team. You’ll also contribute to producing smaller community events and third-party sponsorships, ensuring consistency and quality across all touchpoints.
What you’ll do
- Build and scale operational systems and processes to support Figma’s growing Experiential Marketing team.
- Own the end-to-end event technology lifecycle for tier-one events, including registration platforms and analytics.
- Implement best practices for event planning, execution, and post-event analysis to drive program efficiency and consistency.
- Develop and track key event metrics (attendance, engagement, funnel impact), partnering with cross-functional teams to measure success.
- Own event tech and production vendor relationships, ensuring seamless execution and continuous optimization.
- Own the planning and execution of key workstreams (e.g., registration strategy) for the annual Config conference.
- Contribute to strategy and execution for smaller community events, developer events, and third-party sponsorships.
- Support the in-person execution of events, including logistics, run-of-show management, and post-event retrospectives.
We’d like to hear from you if you have
- 5+ years of experience in event production, event technology, event marketing, or related fields.
- Strong experience building or improving event operations, systems, and processes.
- Excellent cross-functional partnership skills with Marketing, Partnerships, and Brand teams.
- Familiarity with Figma, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach — the ability to toggle between high-level planning and detailed execution.
- A passion for creating meaningful attendee experiences and a deep understanding of optimizing and integrating an event technology stack.
Our Values:
- We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are driven to learn and grow. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply. You’re the kind of person that could be a great fit for this or other roles.
