About the Team
The Gamification and Motivational Mechanics Team is responsible for increasing user engagement on Avito through game-based and behavioral mechanics. We create and develop the gamification layer within the product: games, personal tasks, challenges, sweepstakes, and other mechanics that increase return frequency, depth of interaction, and key business metrics of the platform. The team operates at the intersection of product, marketing, and analytics, influencing the entire Avito user experience – from first visits to long-term retention.
Examples of Future Tasks
- Formulate and develop the gamification and motivational programs direction at Avito;
- Generate and test product hypotheses aimed at growing DAU, retention, and other key metrics;
- Launch and scale A/B tests, interpret results, and make data-driven product decisions;
- Manage a cross-functional development team (design, analytics, development);
- Build processes for regular experiments and rapid iterations;
- Initiate and conduct user and product research;
- Interact with adjacent teams (recommendations, marketing, verticals, business) to integrate gamification into different parts of the product;
- Participate in shaping the growth strategy through motivational mechanics.
It would be great if you
- Have experience as a product manager in growth-/engagement-/retention-focused areas, as well as experience with gamification, game mechanics, or motivational programs;
- Can work with product metrics and build hypotheses from data;
- Have conducted A/B tests and understand the statistical significance of results;
- Can work in conditions of uncertainty and find non-obvious solutions;
- Possess strong cross-functional collaboration skills and can synchronize different teams;
- Have worked with analytics and Data Science teams;
- Can formulate and communicate product strategy.
