Head of Anti-Spam and Anomaly Detection System Development Team

User safety is one of Yandex Search's top priorities. We search for dangerous websites designed to deceive people, infect computers with viruses, or steal card data. We do not show such sites in search results and advertising, and we warn users about the danger in the browser.

You will lead a team that develops technological solutions to protect search results and the user experience. You will work on automating the filtering of malicious content, identifying fraudulent schemes, and anomalous website behavior.

What tasks await you

Team management and technical strategy for system development You will set goals, distribute tasks, and ensure the coordinated and effective work of a team of developers and analysts, as well as define the technical strategy for system development, monitor the relevance of tools, metrics, and approaches to quality assessment.

Improving anti-spam You will implement new filtering and penalization mechanisms, and improve the accuracy and speed of threat detection.

Coordinating ML model development and integration You will coordinate the development and integration of ML models to automate the analysis of content and website behavior.

Threat analysis You will promptly analyze new types of threats and implement effective measures to neutralize them.

We expect that you

• Have experience managing a team in the ML field
• Work with ML models: train, configure, and deploy them into production
• Translate business tasks into technical solutions, build and automate work pipelines
• Possess analytical thinking, confidently work with data, and find growth points for the system
• Effectively coordinate specialists from different fields and lead the team towards set goals

Will be a plus

• Experience in developing anti-spam or fraud detection systems for large internet services
• Familiarity with assessor markup processes
• Understanding of the workings of search and ranking systems
• Keep up with ML trends, read relevant research, and apply new knowledge in practice
