Network Engineer (SRv6) at Yandex Infrastructure

The Yandex network starts from a server's network card and ends at the border routers, connecting several hyper-scale data centers. We develop traffic management systems for tens of terabits, evolve HPC infrastructure, and implement DPDK platforms for high-performance traffic processing.

We are looking for an architect / product owner who has experience in implementing SRv6 and working with it, understands the principles of controller operation in the context of Segment Routing, and is not afraid to interact with a large number of stakeholders. From the candidate, we expect a desire not only to develop HLDs but also to lead a project from prototype to deployment into the production network and to build operational processes.

What tasks await you

Implementing SRv6 in DCI and overlay networks Our network uses several overlay technologies: IPIP, MPLSoUDP, VXLAN, and, of course, MPLS. We believe that in the future all this diversity can be replaced with SRv6, which will allow us to link border devices, our DPDK platforms, switches based on SONiC, and, of course, the servers running our services into a single data plane.

We expect you to

• Understand the principles of building large data transmission networks and the operation of core routing protocols
• Know one of the programming languages popular in the Unix environment (Python, Go, etc.) and be able to apply this knowledge to automate routine tasks
• Be familiar with the principles of incremental project development and not be afraid of cross-team interaction
