QUIC Network Expert at Yandex Infrastructure

Yandex's network starts from the server network card and ends at the edge routers, connecting several hyper-scale data centers. We develop management systems for traffic in the tens of terabits, evolve HPC infrastructure, and implement DPDK platforms for high-performance traffic processing.

What tasks await you

Implementing QUIC in the infrastructure The world of TCP has been with us for a long time: as an infrastructure team, we have built L4 load balancing systems, systems for filtering various forms of TCP floods, and performed fine-tuning of parameters using eBPF. The king is not dead, but long live another king — QUIC.

We are looking for an architect / product owner who will help us adapt our systems to work with QUIC. In this role, we expect an understanding that QUIC is not just a set of UDP packets! We are looking for a candidate who has experience implementing QUIC in infrastructure products such as FW, Proxy, L4 LB, L7 LB. You will work with the internal DPDK platform development team, so the successful candidate must enjoy working with programmers, and they must enjoy working with him!

We expect you to

• Understand the principles of building large data networks and the operation of traffic balancing systems
• Know one of the programming languages popular in Unix environments (Python, Go, etc.) and be able to apply this knowledge to automate routine tasks
• Be familiar with the principles of incremental project development and are not afraid of cross-team collaboration
