DWH System Analyst for the Data and Analytics Platform Development Group

Yandex places great emphasis on the security of user data, its services, and infrastructure. To ensure security, Yandex uses many heterogeneous systems that differ in functionality and data format. To effectively address modern challenges and respond to the most complex incidents in a timely manner, it is necessary to centrally analyze data from such systems in real time.

We are looking for a systems analyst who, together with engineers, will be engaged in building a data platform to solve advanced analytical tasks in the field of cybersecurity.

What tasks await you

Tasks of a DWH System Analyst You will interact with colleagues from related departments on data sources and with data engineers. Check new requirements for consistency with the existing implementation, find contradictions, propose solutions in controversial situations. Design data warehouse objects and integrate them into the overall model. Check the resulting data marts and reports for compliance with requirements. Be active and vigilant, translate elaborated requirements to developers, manage customer expectations, see bottlenecks and risks on the path to achieving results. Interact with data warehouse users, understand their queries, anticipate needs.

We expect that you

• Have participated in data warehouse development projects
• Are proficient in SQL
• Can identify and decompose customer requirements
• Carefully assign tasks to developers
• Know data warehouse modeling methodologies such as Data Vault, Anchor Modeling, hNhM, understand their advantages, limitations, and usage patterns
• Know database theory

Will be a plus

• Analyze (or better yet, write) Python code
• Have worked with JSON, API, SOAP, REST
• Can test ETL processes and profile data
• Work with specialized analytical databases (Greenplum, Vertica, ClickHouse, Teradata, and others)
• Have worked with Kafka
