A group of Russian technology companies YADRO is looking for a Technical Product Manager for the TATLIN object data storage systems.
Your main role will be to assist the product management team with the development, detailing, and support of functional requirements for the data storage system. This will involve close collaboration with development, testing, service teams, as well as with customers.
For the team, a technical product manager is a person who is primarily focused on the technical aspects of product work. They are looking for someone who has worked with object data storage systems for some time, possesses relevant experience and technical expertise, but also has enough flexibility to listen and gather alternative opinions from colleagues and customers, analyze market trends, and form a holistic and unbiased picture for product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulating technical product requirements and technical specifications for product development;
- Conducting technical competitive analysis of existing market solutions,
- Identifying strengths and weaknesses, and based on these, forming ideas for improvement;
- Managing the roadmap;
- Daily interaction with the development team. Managing technical solutions during design — balancing usability and maintainability, technical characteristics, performance, cost, and deadlines;
- Interacting with external contractors on technical and technology-related issues;
- Creating and maintaining a body of information about the product for sales, presales, and other internal company structures;
- Creating technical descriptions and diagrams for the product being developed.
What we expect from a future team member:
- At least 2 years of experience with enterprise-level object data storage systems (Hitachi, HP, IBM, Huawei, NetApp, EMC) as a service engineer/implementation engineer/architect;
- Knowledge of key players in the server market, understanding their strengths and weaknesses;
- Understanding of global server market development trends, and knowledge of current technologies in this field;
- Ability to find common ground with representatives of various functional areas, and the ability to defend one's point of view;
- Ability to act independently within one's area of responsibility and manage personal task priorities. Readiness to make independent decisions, justify them, and take responsibility for them;
- Basic understanding of mechanical component and printed circuit board manufacturing technologies;
- Personal development experience or a relevant degree in computer engineering is a big plus;
- English language proficiency at the Upper Intermediate level or higher. Knowledge of Chinese will be a big plus.
