Vacancy is open at Localrent — an aggregator of local car rental companies. The company was founded in 2011, operates in 50 countries worldwide, and is a market leader in tourist car rentals in some of them. It serves 100,000 clients annually, with a turnover exceeding 30 million euros, high retention, and one of the highest NPS in the market. All employees work remotely and reside in 8 different countries.
To support global market expansion, a systematic approach to marketing is needed that can withstand rapid scaling.
The primary task of the CMO is to build a scalable marketing system: create a team from a collective of strong specialists, define departmental goals and regulations in numbers, launch a continuous process for testing marketing hypotheses, and bear P&L responsibility for the marketing function.
Direct supervisor — the company founder. Direct work with the CEO and top management. The CMO manages processes within the marketing department. We are looking for a very systematic leader with strong management and analytical skills.
If we imagine a scale where 1 is an energetic growth hacker brimming with ideas, and 10 is a thoughtful strategist, administrator, meticulously analyzing spreadsheets and taking a long time to make decisions, we are looking for someone in the range of 7–8.
Important:
- CMO or Head of Marketing experience of at least 3 years in companies where SEO, affiliate, and performance marketing were key acquisition channels.
- International market experience (multiple user communication languages). Experience solely in CIS countries in Russian is not suitable.
- P&L responsibility for marketing: proficiency in unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, ROMI), media mix, connection of marketing to revenue and margin.
Responsibilities:
- Structure and develop a system of metrics for all user acquisition channels. Formulate KPIs for specialists in each area.
- Manage the marketing budget, reallocating resources between channels based on performance. Formulate and defend the budget and marketing plan to the CEO.
- Be responsible for marketing unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, ROMI) by channel and its optimization. Link marketing metrics to the company's financial results.
- Expand the department's team to execute the plan: hiring, onboarding, evaluation, development of specialists and team leads within the area.
- Build CRM and retention marketing: segmentation, trigger communications, cohort analysis, work with LTV and repeat orders, automation.
- Participate in product marketing alongside the product team: positioning, GTM for new markets and language versions, pricing and packaging policy.
- Launch and maintain a regular cycle for testing marketing hypotheses (A/B tests, channel experiments, cohort analytics).
- Meet the plan and stay within budget.
Requirements:
- Experience in companies where SEO, affiliate marketing, and performance marketing were key client acquisition channels. Social media, video platforms, and offline activities in the car rental market are secondary.
- International market experience (when there is more than one user communication language).
- Experience with international advertising tools, including search engines and social networks.
- Experience in building (not just maintaining) a department and its internal regulations. You must have successful experience implementing new processes, new regulations, and practices within a team. It is important to be able to assess and overcome the inertia of an experienced team, as well as seamlessly rebuild processes.
- Proficiency in unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, ROMI) and practical experience managing it by channel. Experience in budgeting and building a media mix focused on ROMI.
- Ability to work independently with BI systems or similar analytical systems for building dashboards at least at an introductory level. The company has a data-driven decision-making culture, and all TOP management can quickly work with data independently, despite the presence of analysts. Without this skill, the CMO will not be able to participate in discussions with colleagues.
- Practical use of AI tools in marketing processes (personalization, content, analytics, routine automation) with an understanding of limitations and risks.
- Experience in a highly competitive and conservative market with competitors tens of times larger. Experience in new, low-competition markets is not suitable.
- Technical background (engineer, developer, mathematician by education or first work experience) is highly welcomed.
- Fluent spoken English. You will need to communicate extensively with international advertising partners and services.
Conditions:
- Full-time employment
- Direct work with the company founder.
- Work schedule: 11 AM to 7 PM Moscow time, flexible (performance is important, not hours worked), remote.
- Vacation: paid, 3 weeks per year.
- Employment: work based on a Service Agreement with a foreign company (payments may be made in various currencies, including cryptocurrency).
