The photo book creation service Periodica Press is looking for an Operations Director who will take charge of the company's operational management: bringing order to processes, managers, tasks, metrics, automation, and strategy execution.
Responsibilities:
- Introduce a unified management rhythm: weekly meetings, agendas, decisions, follow-up.
- Set up a system for task/result assignment, readiness criteria.
- Migrate management tasks from chats to a unified system or format.
- Describe the company's key processes and assign owners. Document managers' areas of responsibility.
- Evaluate managers based on results, competencies, business acumen, and ability to receive feedback.
- Identify bottlenecks and build processes that most strongly impact growth, quality, speed, or economics.
- Formulate a backlog of automation and AI scenarios.
- Launch implementations with a clear effect, not experiments "for the sake of AI".
- Translate company goals into quarterly projects.
Requirements:
- Experience in operational management in a growing business.
- Experience in transformation management: processes, structure, team, metrics.
- Experience managing managers, not just line employees.
- Experience implementing regular management practices.
- Experience building or rebuilding processes.
- Experience making HR decisions: hiring, replacing, firing, strengthening the team.
- Understanding of business economics: margin, payroll, operating expenses, cost of error.
- Practical experience in process automation or strong interest in AI tools with a willingness to implement them in practice.
