SDEK is looking for a Director of Strategy and M&A.
The Director of Strategy and M&A is responsible for backing this ambition with calculations: where the market presents a real growth opportunity, which companies are worth considering for acquisition and why, and where investing in own infrastructure is more profitable than acquiring an asset. Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy and Business Development.
Responsibilities:
- Company strategy formation: developing and defending SDEK's growth strategy as an e-commerce platform — prioritizing markets, segments, and investment directions over a 3–5 year horizon
- M&A opportunity evaluation: systematic search and evaluation of acquisition targets in B2B FTL/LTL and related logistics segments — with financial modeling, synergy assessment, and a clear "yes/no" recommendation
- "Buy vs. Build" analysis: comparing the cost and timeline of acquiring a ready asset with the organic development of own infrastructure — hubs, fleet, digital platform
- Strategy cascading to the business: translating strategic company priorities into measurable goals for the commercial, production, and digital departments
- Investment decision defense: presenting the strategy, M&A cases, and budgets to the Board of Directors and shareholders — upside, risks, and alternatives
- Strategic oversight of the group's business unit portfolio (including new digital and financial ventures) — assessing the target model and scaling potential
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in strategy, corporate development, investment analysis, or finance — in logistics, FMCG, retail, or related industrial sectors
- Understands M&A transaction mechanics from the inside: how synergy and valuation are calculated (multiples, DCF), how due diligence and term sheets are structured
- Priority is an industrial background with M&A literacy, not a career in deal advisory (sell-side/buy-side advisory, investment banking) based on commission from closed transactions
- Understands the structure of a logistics or FMCG business, or possesses a strong financial background with experience in M&A projects
- Experience defending investment decisions before a board of directors or investment committee
The company offers:
- A key role in the strategy of a federal-scale company with direct influence on M&A decisions, capital investments, and IPO exit
- A strong team of top managers and a culture of openness to innovation
- High level of compensation (fixed salary + annual KPI bonus), discussed individually
- Hybrid work format with a comfortable office
- Corporate training programs, VHI with dental coverage, discounts on company and partner services
