About Nevel

We are building Nevel.ai — a new product from the creators of Dbrain. We are creating a tool that provides a Cursor-like experience for working with LLMs for non-developers. Our goal is to empower analysts, managers, and marketers to perform routine work tasks using AI as flexibly as engineers do with code.

We already have our first major Enterprise clients, and we have just launched our B2C direction. Now is the exact moment when design directly impacts how understandable, convenient, and scalable the product will be.

Where we are now, and why we need you.

We quickly assembled the product, brought it to market, and already have ~1,000 paying users — still without a public launch, purely organic and through soft sales. We expect 5,000–6,000 by the end of spring.

The product is working, hypotheses are confirmed, and money is coming in. However, the engineering part grew organically, which led to weak process observability — tasks can get lost during review, stall in QA, and no one systematically tracks this. The current architecture is well-built, and we expect this level to be maintained.

About the role:

We are looking for a strong and independent engineering lead at the Senior / Head of Engineering level — someone who is equally confident in designing architecture, writing code, and building processes. We don't need a pure manager who draws diagrams and talks to stakeholders. We need someone who loves building products and can multiply the team's effectiveness.

We believe that great technological products are built by small teams. We want every engineer to work at the peak of their capabilities, amplified by AI tools. The lead's task is to make this a reality: from integrating coding agents into daily processes to architectural decisions that allow a small team to move fast.

The founder actively brings a high-level vision — from new development approaches to product ideas. The expectation from the lead is not to blindly agree or block out of fear, but to ground this in reality: challenge, ask questions, explain limitations, and find a healthy balance point. To such individuals, we are ready to grant great freedom and full ownership of the product's technical direction.

What you will be doing:

• Own the product architecture: make key architectural decisions and design new system components. For example, a current relevant task is to design a proxy layer for client requests so that some requests can be redirected to models within the client's environment.
• Accumulate and structure engineering context: architectural decisions, grooming results, process agreements — all of this should live not in people's heads, but in the team's knowledge base. We expect the lead to foster a culture of documentation and lead by example in this area.
