Executive Director at Vertex Trade and Manufacturing Company
Vertex is seeking an Executive Director – the second-in-command after the CEO – for its trade and manufacturing operations.
Vertex is a fast-growing Nizhny Novgorod-based company producing essential goods in the FMCG segment.
Main Goal of the Position:
To ensure the fulfillment of revenue, EBITDA, and operating cash flow plans, and to build a management system where Vertex consistently achieves its goals without daily manual intervention from the owner.
The CEO is responsible for strategy, investments, new direction development, and key partnerships.
The Executive Director independently manages the implementation of the approved strategy, operational activities, budget, and the company's team.
Management Scope:
The Executive Director's management scope includes:
- Sales
- Production
- Planning
- Procurement
- Warehousing and Logistics
- Financial Planning and Budget Control
- Key Support Departments
The Executive Director manages functional directors and is responsible for the company's overall results, not just a specific department or set of projects.
Authority:
Within the framework of the approved strategy and budget, the Executive Director has the right to:
- Define operational priorities
- Allocate resources among departments
- Modify processes, regulations, and the management system
- Set KPIs for functional directors
- Demand execution of adopted decisions
- Make personnel decisions within the agreed organizational structure
- Form and strengthen the management team
- Independently make decisions regarding operational activities
Strategic investments, significant budget changes, and key corporate decisions are made jointly with the CEO.
Key Tasks:
- Ensure the fulfillment of monthly and annual plans for revenue, EBITDA, and cash flow
- Manage P&L, budget, costs, and business economics
- Manage working capital: inventory, turnover, shortages, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Unify sales, planning, procurement, production, and logistics into a single manageable chain
- Translate the CEO's strategic goals into concrete 30, 90, and 365-day plans
- Establish a regular management rhythm: metrics, decisions, responsible parties, deadlines, and execution control
- Resolve cross-functional conflicts and prevent stalled decisions
- Identify and eliminate constraints affecting sales, cost of goods sold, production, and profit
- Increase labor productivity and resource efficiency
- Build a strong team of functional directors
- Manage critical situations and operational risks
Expected Results:
First 30 Days:
- Diagnosis of P&L, cash flow, inventory, processes, and management team completed
- Key business constraints and solutions identified
- Action plan for 90 and 365 days developed
First 90 Days:
- Unified company management rhythm implemented
- Metrics, authorities, and responsibilities of functional directors established
- At least 90% of decisions executed within the set deadlines
- Most critical operational constraints resolved
First 6 Months:
- Unified planning process for sales, procurement, production, and deliveries operational
- Inventory, shortages, and working capital under systematic management
- High-performing team of functional leaders formed
- Production, warehouses, and logistics operating according to measurable indicators
First 12 Months:
- Approved revenue and EBITDA plan fulfilled
- Predictable operating cash flow ensured
- Shortages, excess inventory, and operational losses reduced
- Company managed through leaders, metrics, and a system of accountability
- CEO focused on strategy and business development, not daily operations
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as CEO, COO, Executive Director, or head of an independent business unit
- Managed a business with revenue over 10 billion rubles or comparable operational complexity
- Led a team of 300+ people and several functional directors
- Personally responsible for P&L, EBITDA, budget, cash flow, and working capital
- Has a personal track record of rapid business growth or transformation with measurable results
- Can demonstrate in numbers revenue and EBITDA growth, working capital release, or productivity increase
- Managed a multi-channel product business with in-house production or a complex supply chain
- Understands the interdependencies of sales, assortment, inventory, production, logistics, and finance
- Makes decisions under conditions of incomplete information and takes responsibility for them
- Manages through leaders and metrics, but is capable of personally diving into problem areas
- Combines speed, assertiveness, and systematic approach
- Priority given to candidates with experience in FMCG, e-commerce, marketplaces, manufacturing, or multi-channel retail

Work Format:
- Fully in-person format in Nizhny Novgorod
