Head of Intercity Development Group for the Yandex Go Superapp Team

We are building Intercity – a convenient, accessible, and safe service for rides between cities. We grew from a startup but kept its atmosphere: we make decisions quickly, without bureaucracy, and back up results with metrics. We use Yandex Taxi technologies to solve problems of accessibility, safety, and convenience for intercity travel. We operate in 3 countries on 600 routes and have no plans to stop.

We are looking for a head of a backend development team of 5 people.

What tasks await you

Working with the team The team is our main value, and you will help it grow and develop. You will build operational management processes: organize and plan work, control the achievement of results. Together with the business team, you will create a development plan, propose ideas that accelerate development and hypothesis testing.

Forming the technical development plan You will choose technologies for future features, develop Intercity microservices, and deal with reliability issues.

Hypothesis testing We are involved in developing and improving the service for shared scheduled rides, upgrading the pricing mechanism, accounting for fixed prices, surge pricing and forecasts, marketing campaigns, creating a separate entry point in the app and a booking flow specifically for intercity scheduled trips.

We expect that you

• Managed a development team of 4+ people
• Can motivate, develop, and evaluate employees
• Understand the principles of organizing development processes
• Are ready to participate not only in the technical but also in the product development of the projects you work on

Will be a plus

• Have experience with microservice and event-driven architecture
• Developed in C++ — we use the userver framework
• Know what own data centers are and are familiar with high-availability requirements
