Lifhacker publication is looking for an experienced Editor-in-Chief who can take a holistic view of the publication and product, enjoys working with people and content, testing hypotheses, and coming up with new ideas.
Lifhacker is a media outlet that provides answers to life's questions. They work to enable people to make big and small decisions, learn new things, relax, and feel good.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team's work: monitor the quality of materials, processes, workload, and employee development.
- Ensure key performance indicators are met: core audience, traffic.
- Write and edit materials independently when necessary.
- Come up with new topics and formats, implement ideas with the team, and measure results.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding new editorial staff, provide mentorship, and find contractors.
- Represent the editorial team at public events: conferences, lectures, public talks.
Requirements:
- Team management experience. You know how to conduct an effective meeting and how to build an employee development plan.
- Strong editorial skills. You can work with various formats and can bring even a weak text to completion.
- Proficiency in analytics systems (currently working with Yandex.Metrika). You enjoy testing hypotheses, make data-driven decisions, and can speak the language of business metrics.
- SEO experience. You understand ranking factors and know how to adapt text to search queries.
- Use of neural networks. You apply AI to optimize your own work and can teach your team.
- Media savvy and broad outlook. You notice short-term and long-term trends and can apply them to content.
- Initiative, independence, and openness to new things.
- Experience in media or brand media.
Conditions:
- Official employment — documents are signed from the first day of cooperation. Accredited as an IT company.
- Full-time — an eight-hour workday + lunch break.
- Schedule 5/2 (Saturday and Sunday are days off).
