Data Analyst for the Statistics Team

About the Team

Statistics is a unit within the MNZ&ADV&SX directorate. We create statistical tools for professional sellers in the Avito personal account — for example, for those who make custom furniture, rent out apartments for short-term rentals, or resell branded goods. Analytics helps sellers understand where to develop their business and how to increase sales on the platform.

Examples of our products:

1. Extended Statistics — statistics for a listing and for the profile as a whole. Helps analyze basic metrics — impressions, views, contacts, conversions, expenses.
2. Demand Analytics — market statistics by category. Helps identify the most relevant niches for placing a listing.
3. [new] Search Position — a new product that we recently rolled out to all sellers. In it, we show the listing's position in search and reveal the search queries in which the listing appeared. They say about it that it "looks juicy."
4. [new] Competitive Analytics — a new product rolled out in December 2025 to all professional sellers. Useful for those who want to compare themselves with the market ("10 contacts per day — is that a lot or a little in my category?").

Our team is horizontal, so it will be possible to work with data across several verticals immediately: Goods, Services, Auto, Real Estate, and Jobs.

Examples of future tasks:

•   assess the potential of a listing card redesign (our goal is to simplify the integration of vertical blocks into the card, and what this will bring in metrics is a question for you);
  

•   conduct a test of the card redesign (design, launch support, and analysis);
  

•   increase the number of applied recommendations in the statistics — add new recommendations, personalization to old ones, work on value and retention;
  

•   determine the main focus of the team for the next year (together with the product team, sketch out hypotheses, quantify the potential, define the target audience, calculate risks).
  

We expect you to:

•   have or are obtaining a higher education in mathematics, computer science, or statistics;
  

•   have at least three years of experience in data analysis, product analytics;
  

•   know SQL, Python;
  

•   have experience conducting A/B tests (we have them regularly);
  

•   have worked with BI tools (we use Redash);
  

•   possess structural and critical thinking.
