A General Director is required at the IT company of the KAMAZ group of companies.
The company provides software development, implementation, and support, including system-level administration for the KAMAZ group of companies (commercial vehicle manufacturing): corporate systems (PLM, MES, ERP, CRM), legacy systems, connected car systems (telematics, owner portals), and internal digital services (e-employer). It implements information and communication technology projects, including infrastructure IT projects, and participates in initiatives for AI implementation, robotization, and digital transformation of the group.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic development of the company as a software developer and integrator for the group and (optionally) the external market
- Fulfillment of the company's transformation plan as a developer: product-oriented work approach, implementation of advanced development practices using AI
- Fulfillment of the plan to optimize costs for supporting the existing software landscape in conjunction with the KAMAZ group's IT Director: decommissioning legacy systems, outsourcing, unification
- Implementation of the import substitution strategy adopted by the KAMAZ group (SAP, Teamcenter, Microsoft)
- Management of relations with the parent company as the key customer: ensuring business process continuity, contact center operations, 24/7 critical issue resolution, SLA adherence, priority management, funding
- Organization development: hiring, retention, and growth of engineering teams, HR brand as an IT employer
- Management of make-or-buy decisions, working with external contractors and vendors
- Technological development: architecture, infrastructure, information security, readiness for AI tool implementation
- Ensuring the company's financial stability
- Reporting to the Board of Directors and corporate governance
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a General Director of a software development company with a staff of 100+ people
- Experience working within an industrial holding structure or captive development (internal vendor for a parent company) – a significant advantage
- Experience in establishing a product/Agile development model in an organization previously dominated by a project/waterfall approach, combining a product approach with proprietary software development cycles
- Experience interacting with the Board of Directors and shareholders, defending budgets and strategies
- Experience building in-house development teams for web applications, 1C
- Experience with legacy systems and their modernization (ERP, MES) – a plus
- Understanding of modern software development practices (Agile/Scrum, DevOps, product management, PMBOK, project/portfolio management)
- Financial literacy: budgeting, unit economics of IT services, pricing of internal services
- Understanding of corporate system architecture (ERP, MES) and trends in the automotive/machine-building industry (ADAS, autonomous transport – a plus)
- Experience in building motivation and retention systems for engineering staff in a context of market talent shortage
- Understanding of information security and compliance issues
- Knowledge and understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes and their implementation in large manufacturing companies, considering software support and development
