The women's clothing brand 2MOOD is looking for a Production Director.
Reporting and team:
- The role reports directly to the CEO of 2MOOD (Moscow).
- A team of about 18 people across 6 functional areas reports directly to this role.
About the role:
- The manager is the sole owner of the 2MOOD production block in China.
- Responsibilities include managing six key functions: development (designers, technologists), production (production managers and suppliers), operations (SLA for communications with Moscow and OTIF of the production calendar), materials (expertise and material science), sourcing (fabrics and factories), quality — with a mixed team of relocated employees from Russia and local Chinese staff.
- The role acts as a link between the Moscow HQ (brand, design, commerce) and Chinese factories, responsible for the P&L of cost price, OTIF of the production calendar, and the quality of the final product.
Mandatory experience:
- 10+ years in apparel manufacturing in management positions; minimum 5 years as Production Director/Head of Production/GM of production in Asia.
- Experience in full-cycle apparel production in at least three out of five categories: outerwear, textiles, cut-and-sew knitwear, knitted knitwear, denim.
- Deep knowledge of the production ecosystem in the Guangzhou/Shenzhen/Dongguan regions.
- Possession of an up-to-date contact base: factories (CMT and OEM/ODM), fabric suppliers, AQL inspectors.
- Experience managing a multi-factory model (30+ factories simultaneously, different categories and production volumes).
- Expertise in production planning and capacity management for volumes of 500+ SKUs and 300,000 units per year across multiple parallel seasons (SS/AW/NY).
- Strong background in quality management: PP Sample, final QC, AQL procedures, working with critical defects and supplier claims.
- Experience of full ownership of the production budget P&L (payroll, procurement, operating expenses).
- Direct management of a team of 15+ people in a multi-functional structure.
- Experience with 3D design (Style 3D / CLO 3D) or managing a 3D team.
- Experience working with Eastern European / Russian brands (LPP, Sela, Gloria Jeans, 12storeez, Befree, Lime) either as a supplier for middle-market European brands (Zara, Mango, H&M, Massimo Dutti, COS).
- Understanding of Western quality standards (ISO, Oeko-Tex, fit/finish level of European mass-premium).
- Experience working with the go-to-market calendar of western fashion (DI/MR/DR/PP/FAP/shipping windows) will be an advantage.
- Experience building a brand's Chinese office "from scratch" or scaling it will be an advantage.
Languages:
- Chinese — desirable.
- English — fluent business (C1+), mandatory for daily communication with relocated employees from Russia.
- Cantonese — a plus.
Key tasks:
- Ownership and management of the production calendar for two parallel seasons (500+ models per year according to the capacity matrix plus about 40% reserve models up to Sample 1 stage).
- Management of 6 direct reports and 12+ employees at L2 level; scaling the Production Manager team from 1 to 3 people by Q1 2027; hiring a bilingual Quality Manager by 2027.
- P&L management: ensuring the payroll plan for the Chinese office is met with a deviation of no more than ±3%, controlling deviations of cost price from target values by category.
- Quality management: achieving a defect rate of no more than 2%, covering 100% of PP Samples and final QC with inspections, responding to critical defects within 24 hours.
- Formation and implementation of a materials and sourcing strategy: developing a supplier base, managing lead times, MOQs, and surcharges.
- Building an effective interface with the Moscow office: SLA for responses not exceeding 24 hours, weekly sync-ups with the CEO and L2 (creative block, commercial block, buyers).
