A Senior Brand Product Manager is needed for the Golden Apple perfume and cosmetics supermarket for the Chinese market.
You will work in the BrandLab department, where the team is responsible for developing and promoting the company's brand, creating a unique identity that sets the company apart from competitors, and establishing an emotional connection with consumers to attract and retain customers.
What you will do:
- Market Monitoring: analyze the cosmetics market in China, track bestsellers among competitors (both international giants and local Chinese brands), price segments, and sales channels.
- Trend Analytics: study global and local beauty trends (ingredients, textures, formats, packaging), use professional resources (Mintel, WGSN) and Chinese platforms (Little Red Book / Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Weibo) to identify current consumer demands.
- Product Matrix Formation: create a product matrix based on collected data, justify the need for introducing new products or lines into the assortment matrix for China.
- Product Brief Creation: develop briefs for new product development, as well as adapt the current assortment for the Chinese market.
- Product Development Cycle Management: manage the full product development cycle, testing, working with ingredients, and calculating costs.
- Collaboration: work with the certification department for product registration, plan supplies with the logistics and foreign trade department, determine initial batch volumes and regular supplies based on sales forecasts in China.
- Packaging and Design: assign tasks to designers, write briefs for the design department for the development of packaging, labels, and secondary packaging, taking into account product positioning and trends in China, review and approve final layouts, and sign off on reference packaging samples.
What we expect from the candidate:
- Similar successful experience of at least 3 years with beauty products (decorative cosmetics category).
- Fluent English, proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
- Knowledge of Chinese regulations, experience in developing and adapting products for the Chinese market, knowledge and study of Asian trends.
- Willingness to travel on business.
- Ability to work in a multitasking environment, high level of independence and initiative.
