The perfume and cosmetics supermarket Zolotoye Yabloko is looking for a Director of International Supply Chains and Logistics.
You will be working in the area of international logistics and customs clearance.
What needs to be done:
- Develop and implement an foreign economic activity (FEA) strategy: form effective models for organizing international flows, considering sanctions and regulatory restrictions, ensure supply chain resilience
- Restructure management: create local FEA teams in key countries (China, Middle East, CIS), build unified operational standards between regions, synchronize functions of documentary clearance, procurement, and broker support
- Manage total chain cost: calculate and optimize Total Landed Cost, conduct factor analysis, budget and control the share of logistics costs to revenue
- Develop a partner network: select and control brokers, carriers, customs representatives, search for alternative routes and new reliable counterparties
- Ensure legal and risk protection: interact with lawyers on sanctions issues, parallel imports, certification and labeling, minimize operational risks
- Participate in process automation projects
- Manage projects for launching new countries and directions: quickly adapt logistics to changing volumes and market conditions
- Lead the team: set tasks, develop competencies, support cross-functional interaction with commercial, financial, and warehouse departments
What is expected from the candidate:
- Experience in managing FEA and international logistics – at least 3–5 years in leadership positions in large import retail, distribution, or FMCG (companies with high supply volumes and complex structures)
- Knowledge of import flows from China, the Middle East, and other key regions – understanding the specifics of customs clearance, certification, labeling, and sanctions restrictions (including parallel imports)
- Financial expertise – confident calculation of Total Landed Cost, budgeting, factor analysis, ability to see the economics of processes through numbers
- Experience in building distributed international teams – building from scratch, managing remote departments, developing standards and KPIs (SLA, timeliness, quality, costs)
- Partner management skills – working with brokers, carriers, counterparties, conducting negotiations and contract work
- Systemic and critical thinking – ability to see the root causes of problems, propose comprehensive solutions, implement process automation
- Proactivity and self-organization – do not wait for instructions, find growth points yourself, be ready to take responsibility for the results of the entire team
- Fluent English (negotiation and documentation level)
- Willingness for frequent business trips – for the first 1–2 years, it will be necessary to spend up to 30–50% of the time in Yekaterinburg (for immersion and relationship building)
- Education – technical or economic education is welcome, but practical experience is decisive
