Financial Partner in FinTech

FinTech is a young, but already large and important Yandex service. We create products and tools for managing users' personal finances.

We are looking for a strong colleague to join our financial modeling team to help build product financial models and customer analytics, and participate in the planning process as part of the budgeting cycle.

Our team is responsible for forecasting and planning all financial metrics. We use a variety of modeling approaches to ensure flexibility, interpretability, and forecast accuracy, so it will be challenging but interesting!

What tasks await you

Building financial models for business units You will help the business build calculations for changes to existing products and for new initiatives, and will collaboratively work out options for improving unit economics.

Improving the goal-setting and planning process It is important to us that plans are as detailed and transparent as possible for the business. To achieve this, we must continuously improve the quality of interaction with teams during the formulation of assumptions within planning cycles.

Specifying requirements for the team's modeling engines and dashboards We model all FinTech products, and we have a whole set of engines that turn assumptions into a detailed data array with final metrics. You will be responsible for assigning tasks to the team to modify the engines (set of input assumptions, output metrics, adding new features) and for visualizing results on dashboards.

We expect you to

• Understand the principles of unit economics and cohort analysis
• Understand the principles and structure of banking product profitability
• Have experience building financial models
• Be proficient in SQL and Excel

Will be a plus

• Have evaluated the financial effectiveness of product initiatives or have done modeling in a bank
• Know methods of mathematical statistics and understand A/B testing
• Have built data marts and dashboards
