Technical Manager for the Delivery Robots Team
We are building Yandex's delivery robot. Our projects often involve multiple teams, are technically complex, and diverse in terms of approaches. We utilize machine learning methods, hardware prototyping, launching new processes on the robot fleet, and evaluating performance through crowd data.
We are looking for a Technical Manager who will help us lead and develop such projects.
Improving the Delivery Robot Our team has ambitious goals: we plan to significantly improve the robot's capabilities so it moves even faster and more safely. At the same time, we must not compromise its autonomy. Achieving this while staying within the software development team alone is impossible. It will require the joint efforts of all teams: software, hardware, and management. For this, we need to revise our fleet management tools and analytics.
Improving Processes A robot is not just a chassis and a control system, but also a control center managed by human operators. Currently, these parts exist somewhat independently, and we need to integrate them into a single system with a common goal—to create the world's best delivery robot.
Scaling the Service The robot fleet is growing rapidly, and to keep up, we need to reconsider our code deployment and feature testing processes, learn to respond to issues faster, and, better yet, prevent them from occurring.
