The Oncology charity foundation is looking for a Communications Director to develop it as a unified function: with a clear strategy, priorities, processes, and a strong external voice for the foundation. The Communications Director will be responsible for PR, content and SMM, as well as design.
The Oncology charity foundation helps adults with cancer diagnoses and their loved ones receive timely, systematic, and humane support.
Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of the foundation's communication strategy.
- Shaping the foundation's positioning, key messages, and tone of voice.
- Management of the PR area: working with media, publications, comments, special projects, partner news hooks, and external communications.
- Development of the content area: content plan, stories of beneficiaries and experts, texts for the website, newsletters, presentations, and public materials.
- SMM management: foundation's social media presence strategy, content categories, content quality, audience engagement, and community development.
- Design supervision: foundation's visual materials, presentations, special projects, unified visual style, and basic brand control.
- Planning and launch of information campaigns in support of fundraising, programs, and key foundation projects.
- Development of personal brands for the foundation's management and experts: topics, speeches, comments, interviews, columns, public materials.
- Building internal processes: content calendar, approval rules, task prioritization, interaction with internal clients.
- Formation and development of a team in the areas of PR, content/SMM, and design.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in communications, PR, editing, media, or brand communications in a managerial position.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking and daily team management.
- Strong text skills: ability to package complex topics into clear, accurate, and strong messages.
- Experience in interacting with media, speakers, partners, experts, and contractors.
- Understanding of digital and SMM tools.
- Good visual taste and ability to set design tasks.
- Systemic approach, independence, proactivity, and responsibility for results.
- Ability to work with multiple internal clients and establish clear communication work rules.
Will be a plus:
- Experience working in NGOs, charity, social or medical projects.
- Experience supporting top executives and developing their public image.
- Understanding of how communications contribute to fundraising, partnerships, and building trust in the organization.
